No more floods? Time to buy your new harddrive!

A slightly morbid lesson of what a 21st century world economy means can be learnt by the recent price development of computer hard drives. As reported by Computerworld, production is back on track at many sites across Thailand. The sites were shut by massive floods earlier in the year.

After the flood, hard drive prices jumped between 50 and 150 per cent as the available stock all but disappeared.
