Voyager seems to be getting close to warp territory

The Voyager satellite has been heading boldly into places nothing manmade has gone before for years. Now new data from Voyager seems to indicate that it has reached the edge of our solar system.

According to Ed Stone, Voyager project scientist at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena:

“The latest data indicate that we are clearly in a new region where things are changing more quickly. It is very exciting. We are approaching the solar system’s frontier.”

It means that Voyager is getting into territory where the theoretical warp drive from the TV-series Star Trek can work without having to deal with pesky annoyances like planets’ gravity wells.
